Supporting Our Community: The Cornwall & District Fire Department

At the core of our community, the Cornwall & District Fire Department stands as a key pillar of safety and service. With approximately 30 committed members, this department embodies the spirit of community service, dedicating their time and skills to ensure the well-being of our area.

Each firefighter commits to a minimum of two Monday evenings per month, in addition to being on call for emergencies. This dedication reflects their commitment to our community's safety. Among them are trained Medical First Responders, who provide critical medical support when needed.

The department is equipped with two fire engines and a smaller truck, designed to address a variety of emergency situations, from firefighting to medical emergencies.

Their affiliation with notable organizations such as the Nova Scotia Fire School, Lunenburg Regional Fire & Emergency Services, Nova Scotia Fire Services Association, and the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association ensures that our firefighters are always at the forefront of firefighting techniques and safety protocols.

Join us in recognizing the Cornwall & District Fire Department for their steadfast commitment to our community's safety and well-being. They are more than just a fire department; they are an integral part of our community.
